Breaking news: Ralf Ragnick reveals why he wants to sell Dean Henderson to Ajax and reveals the perfect Shot stopper he always wanted to bring to Manchester United, this man is not joking with this job .
Dean Henderson is set to depart Manchester
United in January, with the goalkeeper
seeking a loan move that will afford
him first-team football.
Henderson had won the gloves from
David de Gea towards the end of the
2020-21 season, but the 24-year-old’s
prospects of retaining them for the present
campaign were badly damaged as illness
allowed the Spaniard to impress in the
first three matches of the season.
Although the England shot-stopper has
been linked with a move to Ajax, this is
something that the Eredivisie club, who
are through to the last 16 of the Champions
League, have strenuously denied.
Nevertheless, there is bound to be plenty
of interest from within the Premier League
and elsewhere in Henderson, who notably
impressed with Sheffield United during
two loan stints.
The departure of the goalkeeper has
been hastened by the form of Aaron
Ramsdale at Arsenal, meanwhile.
The 23-year-old has been in eye-catching
form for the Gunners since being picked
ahead of Bernd Leno after the London
side lost their first three matches of the
Premier League campaign, conceding
nine goals in the process.
In 14 matches, he has kept eight
cleansheets, with such form earning him
a first England cap against San Marino
in November.
The Transfer Exchange Show reports
that the emergence of Ramsdale at Arsenal
has convinced Henderson that he must
leave Manchester United in January if
he wants to go to the 2022 World Cup
, which is now just a year away.
Indeed, Henderson has been overlooked
by England boss Gareth Southgate
since being a non-playing member of the
squad that suffered defeat to Italy in
the final of Euro 2020 in the summer.
Henderson’s only competitive action
this season has come against Young
Boys in a meaningless Champions
League match and West Ham in a 1-0
Carabao Cup defeat.
